All mediums are psychic but not all psychics are mediums. Psychic energy is when I am connecting to your energy. When I use my mediumship ability, I am connecting to the energy of those in spirit. I call myself a Spiritual Medium because this is sacred work and my passion is to connect with those in spirit to communicate to you the evidence from them that I receive.
You should make the appointment when you know you will not be rushed and you will be able to sit down and relax into the experience.
You should also have an open mind to accept that the spirit or spirits coming forth during our time together may not be specifically who you wanted to hear from. I believe, the reason for this is that the information coming through is a message you need to hear. It can also be because it is a message spirit needs to share. This experience is really a healing for you and for those in the spirit world.
The short answer is they often do communicate directly. I believe that everyone is born with the ability to communicate with spirit but often it is difficult to do so either because people can shut down due to grief or they just get distracted in everyday life and miss the subtle signs.
The benefit of a good medium is that they have dedicated their lives to developing the ability to align their energy with spirit to pick up on the subtle energies that come through. Evidential mediums can pick up on very specific information that can verify messages and create profound healing in people.
